For the first time in the history of Hellenism, the
World Council of Hellenes Abroad (SAE), through its 795 delegates,
unites worldwide more than 3,000 fraternal, professional, cultural,
educational, and business organizations.
World
SAE is the acronym for the World Council of Hellenes Abroad, a non-governmental,
not-for-profit organization that unites Hellenes and philhellenes
worldwide. The purpose of the organization is to implement projects
that fulfill its mission of harnessing the power of a united Diaspora
and furthering the natural ties among Hellenes worldwide. It is
recognized by the Hellenic State as the official advisor and clearing
house on issues of interest to the Diaspora. The initials of the
organization in Greek are ΣΑΕ (Συμβούλιο Απόδημου Ελληνισμού).
