Press Release | Program | Invitation "The tremendous interest of the Greek Diaspora in the first Symposium with Greek scientists, and the successful completion of our goals in June give us great encouragement as we plan the second Symposium which will focus on high technology investments in Greece" Andrew A. Athens This is the second Symposium designed to provide Greek Diaspora support for the development of high technology in Greece and for the economic advancement of the country. The Symposium, titled Technology & Investment in Greece, the Economic Engine of Southeast Europe and Gateway to the Balkans and EU, will be held in Chicago September 29 and 30 at the Drake Hotel, 140 East Walton and Michigan Ave. This Symposium will bring together investors, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs with technology researchers, developers and scientists and give them all an understanding why it would be beneficial to establish technology companies in Greece. Minister of Development Dimitris Sioufas will be the keynote speaker and presenters include Deputy Minister of Economy Christos Folias and representatives of the Hellenic (Greek) Center for Investments (ELKE). One-on-one meetings will be pre-arranged for Symposium participants from Greece with U.S. high technology companies and potential investors. Participation in the two-day Symposium and arrangements for one-on-one meetings will be free of charge to investors, fund managers and scientists. Advance registration is requested.
