Regional convention in New York leads SAE President to a new round of talks on
National Issues

CHICAGO, November 19. A series of meetings on National Issues in London, Copenhagen, and Athens, will follow SAE President Andrew A. Athens' participation in SAE America's regional convention, November 22-24 in New York.

"The Cyprus issue, now more than ever has come to the forefront, mainly because international conditions are pressuring for a just solution," Mr. Athens said. "For this reason, the events on the Cypriot civilization taking place in London and Copenhagen December 1 and 3 respectively, present a unique opportunity to promote Cyprus to the European Nations. Certainly, during our meetings several other issues will be covered."

In New York, Mr. Athens will meet with the American Ambassador to Greece, Mr. Thomas Miller and with local senators. In London and Copenhagen the cultural events will be held in lieu of the expected entrance of Cyprus to the European Union.

As in the other regions, during the N.Y. convention, Mr. Athens will meet with leaders of SAE of America on national and other issues of organizational interest.

At the convention, organized by Chris Tomaras, SAE of the Americas coordinator, Mr. Athens will emphasize the need for developing a strong campaign for the National Fund (ETO) through which SAE programs on health care, education, and trade can be financially supported.
