The purpose of this project is to create a fund that would help Diaspora Hellenes, who would normally not have access to funds, upgrade their businesses or trade skills or enable them to go into new products or markets. Through this fund, administered by the Commercial Bank of Greece/Tbilisi Branch, very low interest loans would be offered to Hellenes who submit an acceptable business plan with their application. Eligibility criteria are determined by Commercial Bank. The rotating fund would be capitalized with $240,000, and loans would be given with an interest of about one third of the prevailing interest rates. Repayment of loans allows extending credit to additional beneficiaries. |
